DIAGNÓSTICO DO SEXO POR MENSURAÇÕES DO RÁDIO

A investigação do sexo através do estudo do esqueleto humano é uma tarefa relativamente fácil para aqueles que militam nos laboratórios de antropometria forense. No entanto quando o perito dispõem de apenas um osso essa tarefa torna-se difícil ou, as vezes até mesmo impossível.
Pensando nesta possibilidade os autores estudaram 160 rádios de pessoas acima de 20 anos, indigentes ou indivíduos cujas famílias não reclamaram os corpos no tempo determinado pelo Cemitério de Quinta dos Lázaros em Salvador-Bahia e que teriam como destino final o crematório ou inumação em vala comum.
Os resultados permitiram estabelecer metodologias para avaliações futuras com índices satisfatórios podendo ser, este método, empregado com segurança no diagnóstico do sexo através do estudo ósseo.

The investigation of sex through the study of human skeleton is a relatively easy task for those who deal with anthropometric forensic labs however when the coroner has only one bone, tasks become difficult or sometimes even impossible.

Thinking about this possibility authors studied 160 radiuns of over 20 homeless or individuals whose families didn’t ask for the corpses in determined administrative time by Quinta dos Lázaros Cemetery, in Salvador, Bahia and would have the crematorium as final destination.

The results permitted establishing methodologies for future evaluation with satisfactory rates, being still able to be safely employed in the diagnosis of sex through the study of bones.
